The UK’s leading aggregates specialists, Derbyshire Specialists Aggregates, announced at the start of Q4 2023 its acquisition of the Geveko Markings’ resin surfacing operations in Stalbridge, UK.
The acquisition not only marks another positive step forward in the business growth, but sees Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates become the only manufacturer of resin and aggregate in the UK.
Effective from 1st October 2023, the acquisition included all manufacturing plant, product, and equipment. It also ensured all employees were retained during the transition.
Discussing the acquisition, Sam Buckley, Managing Director of Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates said on its website:

Aware of its Impact
The aggregates industry is known for its impact on the environment, which can include scarring of landscape, dust, noise, and the loss of agricultural land.
Acutely aware of this, Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates have put sustainability at the heart of its business.
Its primary focus is on using ethically sourced materials from sustainable deposits. In addition, it prioritises the use of recycled products or industrial by-products for relevant applications. For example, some of its products used in resin-bonded applications are developed from recycled and reconstituted materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.
Its site selection process is designed to minimise environmental and social impacts, and ensures that mineral extraction takes place only in ecologically suitable deposits.
Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates actively promotes the use of energy-efficient dashing aggregates in insulation systems under government initiatives such as the Green Deal and ECO, to strike a balance in the use of raw materials.
In addition, its landscaping products are natural and comply with Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS), providing a sustainable alternative to hard landscaping
