The specialists in the preparation of wood veneers and timber, Forza Doors, have integrated the latest monitoring technology from FireDNA into its products.
Launching the initiative in July 2022, Forza Doors embeds FireDNA QR Codes and NFC Tags into its fire doors, frames, and doorsets. This enables the firm to digitally attach important data relating to manufacturing, certification and installation guidance, offering a clear benefit to its customers.
Via mobile, cloud and RFID technology it links people in the chain of responsibility, simplifying and enhancing the reporting and access of compliance and traceability data for new or legacy passive fire products.
Amongst the benefits of the integration it helps to ensure architects’ specifications are enforced from inception to installation, and allows users to plot Passive Fire Products onto floor plans to assist in on-site locating, which can also be output into reports.
Since its launch, it has rolled out the programme to its full product range, including Fire Screens.
“FireDNA is the technological solution to creating a Golden Thread of Digital Data that we’ve, and I think the industry at large, has been waiting for,” said Forza Managing Director, Nick Hare.
Forza Doors’ products are used within the production of doors, frames, panels and associated joinery for use in the commercial interior construction market, encompassing office, education, health, hotel and retail.
The Forza product range satisfies the demands and standards required by the UK interior fit-out construction industry.
The firm aims to provide its clients and their clients with a superior range of veneer or laminate doors and panels.
In March 2023, Forza supported iWall in the interior fit-out in an office development in Brackley, UK. iWall are a leading designer, manufacturer, and installer of demountable partitioning systems in the commercial sector.
The design decisions for the project were completely guided by the client’s requirements, resulting in a tailored and highly functional space. iWall’s demountable partitioning systems allowed for flexibility and ease of reconfiguration for any future changes to the layout or function of the office space.
The ground floor of the office development used iWall’s 110 single-glazed system, consisting of several meeting rooms along a corridor with timber doors and a conference area with double doors. The glazing was finished with flat bars, giving it a transom glazing look that added a sleek and modern touch to the space. The second floor utilised the iWall 110 system but was double-glazed, providing enhanced insulation and noise reduction for the office.
iWall chose Forza as the door supplier due to our high-quality and extensive options.
“We chose a mix of horizontally laid natural Oak and engineered Oak veneers, as well as white laminate in some areas. The doors supplied not only added aesthetic value but also provided practical benefits like sound reduction,” said Adrian Law, Director of iWall Ltd.
Forza Doors, which has grown to a turnover of £28 million, has perfected its production process, which has been specifically developed to support the demands and needs of the construction industry, enabling a 10 to 14 day lead time.
In May 2023 a buy-out of Forza Doors was announced, which saw the senior management team at the time working alongside the new Managing Director, Will Hunnam.
Further to Will’s appointment, the business laid out its environmental goals and commitments, adding yet another competitive edge for the business.
The eight environmental goals set out by Forza Doors include using a life cycle approach to adapt production processes and product development in order to reduce current and long term environmental impact. This also forms part of its Sustainable Procurement Policy.
It also identifies the business commitment to reducing the use of energy, materials, and utilities, as well as minimising waste generation and implementing responsible waste management and disposal techniques.
Crucial to the timber industry, Forza Doors also commits to promoting and supporting the Forest Stewardship Council and Programme for the environment of forest certification schemes.
