LONGi Green Energy Technology has once again solidified its leadership in sustainable innovation, earning a place in the 2025 S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) for the third consecutive year. The accolade underscores the solar giant’s ongoing excellence in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and its steadfast commitment to responsible, green development.
The Yearbook, based on the rigorous S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), now in its 26th year, serves as a global benchmark for ESG excellence. Out of more than 1,600 Chinese enterprises evaluated, only 164 were selected for inclusion in this year’s edition, highlighting the competitive nature of the assessment. The CSA results are used in over 200 indices published by S&P Dow Jones Indices and are a key reference for institutional investors managing over $35 trillion in assets.
LONGi made significant strides in 2024 toward meeting and exceeding its sustainability targets. The company increased its use of green electricity to 47.5%, reducing an estimated 2.55 million tons of carbon emissions. It also recorded a 37% year-on-year reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and a 26% drop in Scope 3 emissions compared to 2023. Energy efficiency improved markedly, with electricity consumption per unit of production falling well below 2020 levels.
Environmental protection remained a top priority, with ¥370 million invested in sustainability initiatives. LONGi achieved ISO 14001 certification across all its operational sites and maintained a spotless record with zero environmental violations. Its Jiaxing facility not only retained its status as a World Economic Forum Lighthouse Factory, but also earned zero-carbon factory certification, a rare industry feat.
In 2024, LONGi expanded its international ESG credentials, securing 53 carbon footprint certifications across its silicon wafers, solar modules, and hydrogen products. These certifications, granted in regions including France, South Korea, and under the international Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) system, underscore the company’s role in driving the global transition toward low-carbon, renewable energy.
Guided by its founding vision, “Making the best of solar energy to build a green world”– LONGi continues to align its strategy with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By championing clean, affordable, and efficient energy solutions, the company is helping shape a future where sustainability is the standard, not the exception.
As ESG expectations rise across industries and regions, LONGi’s continued recognition in the S&P Global Yearbook reflects more than compliance, it demonstrates leadership in creating a greener, more sustainable world.
