European Energy has secured long-term support for four onshore wind projects in Germany with a combined capacity of 89.6MW, marking another step forward for the company’s renewable energy development pipeline.
The projects received awards in the latest auction held by Germany’s Federal Network Agency, providing greater revenue visibility as they progress towards construction.
Four Projects Move Towards Construction
The four wind projects are part of European Energy’s growing German portfolio and will now move through the next stages of development.
Securing support through the auction is an important milestone for the projects, helping provide greater certainty around future revenues and supporting the financing process ahead of construction.
Johannes Thon, Managing Director of European Energy Germany, said the award gives the company greater visibility as it advances the projects and reflects the strength of its German portfolio.
Continued Investment in German Wind Energy
The latest awards come as European Energy continues to expand its development pipeline in Germany through both new-build wind projects and the repowering of existing wind farms.
The company has been active in the German market since 2005 and develops, constructs and operates wind, solar and battery storage projects across the country.
The 89.6MW secured through the latest auction adds further capacity to this established portfolio and supports European Energy’s continued investment in German renewable energy infrastructure.
An Evolving Investment Environment
While the latest auction results provide positive momentum for the four projects, European Energy also highlighted changes ahead for Germany’s renewable energy investment framework.
Planned amendments to the Renewable Energy Sources Act from 2027, alongside changes to grid connection rules, could influence the risk profile and financing conditions of future renewable energy projects.
For developers and investors, long-term visibility around revenues, grid access and regulation remains an important consideration when committing capital to projects that can take years to reach operation.
European Energy said the latest auction demonstrates how a stable support framework can help mobilise private investment into renewable energy projects at scale.
Building Germany’s Renewable Energy Pipeline
The four projects will now continue towards construction, adding to European Energy’s wider activity across Germany.
With almost 90MW of wind capacity receiving support, the latest awards underline the continued development of the company’s German renewable energy portfolio and its focus on expanding wind generation alongside solar and battery storage.
