Morocco is shifting gears toward sustainable transportation with the launch of its first-ever Auto Expo dedicated entirely to hybrid and electric vehicles. Organised by the Vehicle Importers Association (AIVAM), the inaugural event runs from September 18–28, 2025, at AUDA Space in Casablanca.
The 11-day expo spans 3,500 square meters and is expected to attract nearly 50,000 visitors, featuring 70 hybrid and electric vehicles from 31 automotive brands, including several debut models making their public introduction. The event’s slogan, “Drive Green, Think Future,” reflects Morocco’s commitment to fostering responsible, innovative, and sustainable mobility while highlighting technological advancements that could define the future of transportation.
Beyond showcasing vehicles, the Auto Expo will host conferences and panel discussions focused on road safety, automotive financing, and the major challenges and opportunities presented by sustainable mobility. Industry experts will guide attendees on transitioning to hybrid and electric vehicles, exploring how infrastructure, adoption strategies, and education can accelerate Morocco’s green mobility goals.

The Auto Expo aligns with Morocco’s wider efforts to lead North Africa in clean transportation. The country has launched an ambitious program to procure 7,000 electric buses, with the first tender already issued for 1,300 vehicles, a key step in preparing for the 2030 FIFA World Cup co-hosted with Spain and Portugal.
Morocco also aims to join a global elite of only 5–6 nations capable of full electric vehicle manufacturing, positioning itself as a strategic player in the global shift toward eco-friendly transportation. These initiatives are especially urgent as the country faces environmental pressures, including severe droughts, emphasising the need for sustainable solutions across sectors.
According to AIVAM, the Auto Expo is designed to be more than a traditional trade show. It serves as a platform for innovation, education, and sustainability, connecting producers, industry experts, and the public. Morocco’s Auto Expo is a statement of intent: the country is ready to lead the region in green transportation, leveraging technology, investment, and strategic partnerships to drive long-term change.
