Ryanair is strengthening its digital infrastructure through a new five year partnership with Google Cloud, as Europe’s largest airline looks to use data and artificial intelligence to support its ambitious growth plans.
Announced on 12 August 2026, the partnership will see Ryanair deploy Google Workspace and Google Cloud services to approximately 35,000 employees across its network. The rollout is designed to support the airline as it works towards its target of carrying 300 million passengers annually by 2034.
AI At The Heart Of The Partnership
A central part of the agreement is Gemini Enterprise, Google Cloud’s agentic artificial intelligence platform. Ryanair plans to use the technology to connect organisational data, automate workflows and create customised AI agents across the business.
The technology will support areas including decision making, flight crew logistics and corporate productivity. By bringing advanced AI capabilities into its operations, Ryanair aims to help employees work more efficiently while supporting the airline’s continued expansion.
Building A More Resilient Airline
The partnership will also strengthen Ryanair’s infrastructure resilience through a dual cloud strategy. For a major international airline, reliable technology infrastructure is increasingly important as passenger numbers, routes and operational demands continue to grow.
Cloud technology can provide airlines with scalable infrastructure, while AI can help process information and automate tasks across complex operations.
What It Means For Aviation
Ryanair’s latest move reflects a wider shift across the aviation industry, with airlines increasingly looking at artificial intelligence as a practical tool rather than simply an emerging technology.
Applications such as workforce management, operational planning and automated decision making could become increasingly important as airlines look to improve efficiency while managing larger networks.
The partnership also highlights the growing relationship between the aviation and technology industries. As airlines continue their digital transformation, collaboration with major cloud and AI providers is becoming an increasingly important part of their technology strategies.
Supporting Future Growth
Ryanair’s ambition to reach 300 million passengers annually by 2034 means the airline will need technology capable of supporting significant growth.
Its partnership with Google Cloud is intended to provide the digital infrastructure and AI capabilities needed to support that journey, while giving its workforce access to new tools designed around efficiency and productivity.
The agreement demonstrates how aviation AI is becoming increasingly embedded in the industry’s future. For Ryanair, combining cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence and a dual cloud strategy could provide the technological foundation needed to support its next stage of expansion.
